The road from Stepanavan to Odzun and Alaverdi is known by many as a road with beautiful sceneries, but few people stop to explore the sights and places located in the surrounding areas. However, there are several villages on that road, where you can also find cultural and historical objects․
This time, being in Stepanavan, and in the mood to discover new places, I decided to find some new places hidden in the surrounding villages of Stepanavan with a map. However, it was surprising that Google Maps are not so rich in bookmarks of the sights of the north of Armenia (Although, to be honest, I am no longer surprised by the sad state of Google Maps in Armenia).
I have already told in one of my stories about the red church of Lejan village here. And I was sure that there would be monasteries, bridges, chapels, and churches in other villages on the way to Alaverdi from Stepanavan. And in the evening, I went first to the village of Agarak, and then to Yaghdan, a once Greek-populated village.

Being a search engine optimization specialist, I could not miss these places and not add them to Google Maps. So I’ve added the points of these 2 churches and additionally 4-5 photos of each sight. Amazingly, the church locations I added in Agarak and Yaghdan villages were quickly confirmed on Google and are now available to everyone, much to the delight of all new location seekers in Armenia.

By the way, I’d suggest stopping in the middle of route Stepanavan-Alaverdi and enjoying the offbeat sights here.
